(Al-Hashr) 59 : 10

And those who came after them, they would pray: “Oh our Lord! You forgive to us and to our brothers who preceded before us with the belief; and You shouldn’t make hatred in our hearts towards those who believed, Our Lord! Indeed You are the kind, the Merciful”.

The believers included in the party of Allah, as mentioned in verse 58:22, have recognized the Truth—that the soul of all creatures originates from the Lord, while their physical bodies, which serve as vehicles for the soul, differ. They always remember the teaching of the Lord through His Messenger: “None can become a believer until he loves for others what he loves for himself.” These believers live as vicegerents of Allah, seeing Him through Adhikr. They learn Adhikr, teach it, and propagate it among all of mankind, regardless of nationality, caste, religion, gender, or color. These are the one-in-a-thousand believers described by the Lord through His Messenger, as explained in verse 4:118. Since many of the believers who preceded them are unknown to the later believers, this verse commands them to pray: “Forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith.” See explanations of 7:43, 9:71-72, 23:51-53, 33:35, and 47:19.
